Casaprojecta began in 2009 as an initiative of Jamal Abdennassar. His concept was creating gatherings in Casablanca’s bars around visual projections : art video, photography, shorts and experimental film. Since then, Casaprojecta has transformed into an underground platform for the reunion of authors and artists and created a community which is avid for alternative creativity. Jamal Abdennassar has organised close to 50 gatherings throughout Morocco and Europe.

Biography

Jamal Abdennassar is a cultural advisor, programmer and artistic director. For about twenty years, he has participated in several multidisciplinary artistic projects, thus acquiring knowledge of the Moroccan artistic field. Through the "Casaprojecta" urban meetings that he initiated in 2009, Jamal Abdennassar created a space for the discovery of experimental artistic forms and presented and defended artists and authors in the visual arts. Between 2006 and 2012, he founded and set up "FestiMode Casablanca", the 1st annual Moroccan contemporary fashion platform which has put in the spotlight many young designers who are now essential. He also co-created the video capsule project "La Chaise Rouge" in 2011, challenging politicians on the situation of culture in Morocco through interviews with civil society actors. In 2014, during the 5th Marrakech Biennale, he was in charge of the “Video Art and Cinema section” curator alongside Alya Sebti. The same year, he took over the management of the Hiba Foundation, launched the Hiba Recording Studio and the Hiba Lab multidisciplinary space and coordinated the opening and management of the Khouribga media library in 2017. Currently, he supports several projects in socio-cultural value as an independent consultant.

Casaprojecta est né en 2009 à l’initiative de Jamal Abdennassar, dont le concept est de créer des rencontres dans les bars de la ville de Casablanca autours de projections visuelles à savoir : la vidéo d’art, la photographie, le court métrage et film expérimental. Depuis, Casaprojecta s’est transformé en plateforme underground de rencontre entre les auteurs et créatifs avec une communauté avide de créations alternatifs. Jamal Abdennassar a organisé une cinquantaine de rendez-vous à travers le Maroc ainsi qu’en Europe.

Jamal Abdennassar est acteur culturel, programmateur et directeur artistique. Depuis une vingtaine d'années, il participe à plusieurs projets artistiques multidisciplinaires, acquérant ainsi une connaissance du champs artistique marocain. A travers les rendez-vous urbains « Casaprojecta » qu’il a initié en 2009, Jamal Abdennassar a créé un espace de découverte de formes artistiques expérimentales et a présenté et défendu des artistes et auteurs en arts visuels. Entre 2006 et 2012, il a fondé et mis en place «FestiMode Casablanca», 1ère plateforme annuelle de mode contemporaine marocaine qui a mis sous le feu des projecteurs de nombreux jeunes créateurs aujourd’hui incontournables. Il a également co-créé le projet de capsules vidéo « La Chaise Rouge » en 2011, interpellant les politiques sur la situation de la culture au Maroc à travers des interviews d’acteurs de la société civile. En 2014, lors de la 5ème Biennale de Marrakech, il est en charge du commissariat «Section Art vidéo et Cinéma» aux côtés de Alya Sebti. La même année, il prend la direction de la Fondation Hiba, lance le Studio d’enregistrement Hiba et l’espace multidisciplinaire Hiba Lab et coordonne l'ouverture et la gestion de la médiathèque de Khouribga en 2017. Actuellement, il accompagne plusieurs projets à valeur socio-culturelle en tant que consultant indépendant.
